Timelapse
Timelapse captures the development of your artwork for export as a video. It does not record the app interface and is separate from the finished animation on the timeline. For the short workflow, see record and export your drawing process.
Configure timelapse recording
Before drawing, check the Timelapse switch in the new-project dialog. For an existing project, open Menu → Sprite → Timelapse Properties and check its current recording state. Do not assume that recording is already enabled based on canvas size.
- iOS: the recording properties include the switch, Quality, and Speed (the recording speed ratio). Quality controls the recording resolution multiplier; the speed ratio controls how the drawing process is condensed. Changes apply to future recording, while earlier segments keep their original settings. Idle time is not captured, so the ratio is not an exact conversion of elapsed working time into video length.
- Desktop / Android: the recording properties include the switch, recorded frame count, and entries for export and data management. Choose playback speed when exporting; there is no matching iOS-style recording quality control here.
Enabling recording cannot recreate work done before it was enabled. Desktop / Android recording requires v1.27.1 or later.
Export a timelapse

Review the output resolution and duration shown in the dialog before exporting. Animation loop counts apply when displaying an animated result; still-image display time applies to a single-frame result. The animation's own frame timing and the timelapse playback speed are separate settings.
Manage stored timelapse data
On both platforms, open Settings → File & Storage → Timelapse Data Manager to check storage usage and clean up recordings older than a chosen number of days. Check the cleanup range and export any videos you want to keep before deleting data.
Timelapse data is stored separately from the project and is not included in a .resprite backup. Keeping the project file alone does not preserve its recording history. An exported video lets you watch the process, but cannot restore the original recording data for continued recording. See what a project backup includes.
If you suspect recording is contributing to slowdowns, compare the behavior with recording disabled in a test copy. Turning recording off stops future capture; it does not export the existing recording for you.
