How do I export a layered PSD file?

Available on desktop/Android v1.28.0+ and iOS R51+. Only the selected frame is exported, not the timeline animation.

  1. Select the frame you want to export.
  2. On desktop/Android, choose Menu ▸ File ▸ Export ▸ PSD. On iOS, choose PSD in the export menu.
  3. Save the PSD and open it in the destination app to check the result.

What does the PSD retain?​

The exported PSD includes layers, groups, names, opacity, blend modes, each layer's own visibility, and image-layer clipping masks.

What changes or is omitted?​

  • Tilemap layers become ordinary pixel layers; editable tilemap structure and tileset resources are not preserved.
  • Layer styles, such as Stroke and Shadow, are skipped. They are not automatically baked into the pixels.
  • Group clipping masks and reference images are not preserved.
  • Animation is not included beyond the selected frame.

Keep the .resprite original. To include the visual result of a layer style, duplicate the project and rasterize the style in the copy before exporting. Check appearance and blending in the destination app.

Can I import a PSD too?​

Yes: desktop/Android v1.29.2+ and iOS R53+ can import supported PSD content into a Resprite project. This does not imply full compatibility with every Photoshop-specific feature. See PSD import and export.
