Why is my exported image blurry or losing transparency?

Saving a small PNG directly to the Photos app can cause iOS to add a white background and upscale the image, which results in blur.

You can solve it by one of following methods:

  • Use the GIF format
  • Save to Files instead of Photos
  • Increase the Magnification setting during export so the PNG is saved at a higher resolution.***
