iOS: How do I paste images and reference images?

Use a clipboard image as a reference for viewing and color picking, or insert it into the artwork as pixels. Choose the import destination before selecting the clipboard as the source.

Paste an image on iPad or iPhone​

  1. Copy the image itself from Photos, Safari, or another app.

  2. In an open Resprite project, choose the destination:

  3. Allow pasting if the system asks for permission.

If the clipboard contains no image, check that you copied image data rather than a link, then copy it again. You can also choose From photos or From files in the source menu. See Reference images for reference placement and display options.

Copy an image from Mac to iPad or iPhone​

Use Apple's Universal Clipboard. On both devices, sign in to the same Apple Account, turn on Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Handoff, and keep the devices near each other.

Copy the image on the Mac, then follow the pasting steps above on the iPad or iPhone. Paste soon after copying; clipboard content is kept briefly and replaced when you copy something else.

Stop repeated paste permission prompts​

Open Resprite's page in system Settings; use Apps ▸ Resprite or search Settings for Resprite. If Paste from Other Apps is available, choose Allow, then try pasting again.

If that option is unavailable, allow pasting when the system asks, or import the image from Photos or Files instead.
