Resprite iOS R60: Inherited-Cell Tweening, Multi-Cell Editing & Bead Pattern Checks

Diandian
Content Editor

Resprite iOS R60 expands animation and batch editing on the timeline. You can animate inherited-cell position and opacity, transform or paste content across multiple cells, and import images or sequences as new layers. The update also adds a Sharpen filter, Bead Pattern watermarks and color-difference checks, flexible Sprite Sheet exports, symmetry workflow upgrades, and several drawing and performance fixes.

Timeline Editing and Inherited-Cell Animation

Transform or paste content across multiple timeline cells.

After explicitly selecting multiple cells, you can move, rotate, scale, or flip the selection content in all of them together. You can also paste the same clipboard content into multiple editable cells and transform it as one operation. Each batch supports unified Undo and Redo.

Import images and image sequences as new layers.

Resprite groups files into frame sequences when the complete batch forms valid filename sequences. Otherwise, each selected image creates a separate layer.

Give inherited cells their own position offsets.

Local Offset moves the current inherited cell without changing its shared source. Move Following can apply the same delta through the inherited cells before the next solid cell. Position Offsets can be viewed, edited, or reset from Cell Properties and reset individually or in batches from the timeline.

Animate inherited cells with Position and Opacity Keys and Tween.

Position Tween and Opacity Tween are available from the timeline Cell menu. Position animation supports straight paths and curved paths shaped by at least three Position Keys. Generated values account for frame duration, and Hold, Linear, and eased timing options are available.

Filters, Gestures, and Symmetry

Edit > Filters now includes Sharpen with adjustable strength.

Sharpen works with selections and Sprite, Layer, Frame, and Cell targets while preserving transparency and cell bounds. Blur has also moved from Color Adjustments to Edit > Filters.

Use the Eraser temporarily with a long press.

Canvas Long Press and Pencil Draw Only one-finger long press can temporarily switch to the Eraser. The canvas previews erased pixels during the gesture and restores the previous tool when it ends.

Keep selections linked to active symmetry tools.

Selections now follow enabled symmetry axes automatically and keep their mirrored branches linked during later transforms.

Transform a selection while preserving symmetry

When a symmetry handle is outside the viewport, a canvas-edge indicator shows its direction and axis type. Drag the indicator to bring horizontal, vertical, or 45° axes back into view. Center Symmetry Axes now uses the visible area center when the canvas center is offscreen.

Export Upgrades

Add custom diagonal watermarks to Bead Pattern exports.

Watermark text, opacity, density, and color are adjustable. The watermark is overlaid on the pattern and clipped to the bead grid.

Check color differences before exporting a Bead Pattern.

An adjustable ΔEOK threshold compares artwork colors with their palette matches. When noticeable differences are found, you can cancel, continue with a final copy, or export a review copy with marked cells, color comparisons, a review footer, and warning bands. Gallery batches and per-layer exports summarize the results once.

Color-difference check settings for Bead Pattern export

Bead Pattern and Quantize to Palette now share standard OKLab color-distance matching. Pattern cells can show palette matches or artwork colors, while the thumbnail always preserves the artwork colors.

Split Sprite Sheet exports by frame, animation clip, or layer.

Split conditions can be combined. Exports can apply clip direction and frame duration, include hidden layers, and preview safe, unique filenames. Gallery batches handle selections and failed sources consistently, while multi-file exports still offer ZIP packaging.

Workflow Improvements and Fixes

  • Turning off cell inheritance now preserves the displayed content and position.
  • Inherited-cell Position and Opacity remain consistent on the canvas, in PSD/ASE exports, and in cross-platform .resprite files.
  • Explicit batch edits now include unlocked hidden content while keeping locked content protected.
  • Hidden timeline cells can be edited directly from the Cell menu. Cell Properties remains editable on hidden layers and opens read-only when the layer or a parent Group is locked.
  • Frame navigation and timeline positioning during animation playback have been refined.
  • Custom brushes now draw completely across boundaries and visible copies in rectangular, isometric diamond, and hexagonal Tiled Mode.
  • Blur and Jumble now sample neighboring tiles correctly across tiled edges, corners, and visible copies.
  • Paint Bucket and Gradient no longer pause for several seconds on large canvases.
  • Floating, split, and undocked keyboards on iPad no longer shrink the interface or leave a large blank area at the bottom. Fully docked keyboards continue to use system avoidance.
  • Repeated Undo and Redo across complex timeline edits now preserves object identities, preventing timeline corruption or crashes.
