iOS: How do I recover recent saved versions with Safe Zone?
Applies to: iOS / iPadOS.
If you saved over a version you wanted to keep, check Safe Zone (_safezone) for a recent saved copy.
- Open Files ▸ On My iPad / On My iPhone ▸ Resprite ▸ _safezone.
- Look for backups containing your project name. If several match, keep the candidates you want to check.
- Copy the candidates into the parent Resprite folder, keeping filenames different from your current project. Copy them out before continuing to edit or save the original.
- Open the copies in Resprite and check their layers, frames, and artwork to find the state you need.
Which versions can Safe Zone restore?
When a save replaces an existing project, Resprite moves the previous saved file into Safe Zone. This happens for manual and automatic saves; you do not need to enable scheduled auto-save or a separate Safe Zone setting.
Safe Zone keeps up to 20 recent backups in total across all projects. Saving other projects can also cause older backups to be removed. It cannot recover edits that were never saved or provide a complete version history for each project.
If you cannot find the version you need, see Safe Zone backup rules and missing backups. A separate project copy you made earlier may still help; follow the backup and restore guide.
