Timelapse

Configure timelapse recording

When creating a new sprite bundle, set timelapse options before you start drawing. For existing work, open Menu ▸ Sprite ▸ Timelapse Properties.

Adjust the following parameters:

  • Recording toggle: timelapse data is captured only when this switch is enabled. Small canvases default to on; very large canvases default to off.
  • Video quality: values between 2 and 3 balance clarity and file size. Large canvases may require level 1 to stay efficient.
  • Speed ratio: controls how much real time is condensed into playback (for example, 20x turns 20 minutes of drawing into 1 minute of video). Idle time is not captured.

Changes apply to future strokes; earlier recordings keep their original settings. Existing sprites have timelapse disabled until you explicitly enable it.

note

Only the iOS edition stores the video quality setting. On desktop/Android, choose the playback speed at export time.

Export a timelapse

On desktop/Android, go to Menu ▸ File ▸ Export ▸ Timelapse. Choose whether to display the final artwork at the beginning or end, set loop counts for animations, configure still-image display duration, and define magnification or bitrate.

Manage stored timelapse data

Visit Preferences ▸ General ▸ Timelapse Data Manager to check how much storage timelapse recordings occupy and clean up old sessions when needed.

note

Timelapse capture can stress older devices or extremely large canvases. Disable recording if you notice performance or storage issues.
