Fonts and text

Resprite supports two font systems: the built-in Resprite font format for pixel-precise glyphs, and standard font files (.ttf, .ttc, .otf, .otc) for traditional typography.

Import fonts

Tap the + button next to the font list in the Insert Text dialog to import additional fonts from the Files app.

Insert text

  1. Open Menu ▸ Edit ▸ Insert text.
  2. Choose a font in the left column.
  3. Tap characters in the grid to compose your string or type directly using the keyboard.
  4. Adjust spacing, alignment, and anti-aliasing options if available.
  5. Press Insert to place the text on the current layer.

Combine multiple Resprite fonts within a single text block to mix decorative elements such as icons or emoji.

Create a Resprite font

Resprite fonts store pixel artwork inside a grid so every glyph renders exactly as designed.

  1. Draw the glyphs on a sprite using the provided template.
  2. Choose Menu ▸ Export ▸ Save as font.
  3. Configure grid size, monospace metrics, and preferred word spacing.
  4. Use Preview to verify the final output.
