Editing
Commands in the Edit menu apply to the active cell (current frame and layer) unless otherwise noted. Rotation tools require either an active selection or the entire canvas to be targeted from the Canvas menu.

Available commands:
- Cut / Copy / Paste – manage content on the Resprite clipboard. The clipboard is shared across sprites, so you can copy from one project and paste into another.
- Flip Horizontal / Vertical – mirror the selection or entire cell.
- Rotate 90° CW / CCW – rotate the selection by quarter turns. Requires an active selection.
- Outline – add a one-pixel outline using the current pen colour.
- Adjust colour – open the colour adjustment panel (HSV, contrast, brightness, replace).
- Insert image – place artwork from Files, Photos, or the clipboard directly onto the canvas.
To transform every frame or layer simultaneously, use the tools described in Canvas.
Cut, copy, and paste
Cut, copy, and paste appear both under Menu ▸ Edit and in the Selection tool options bar.
When pasting, Resprite preserves layer structure and animation timing as long as the destination sprite provides enough frames and layers.
Colour adjustment
Launch Menu ▸ Edit ▸ Adjust colour to modify the active selection, layer, frame, cell, entire sprite, or the palette itself.

Settings include:
Adjust by HSV channels
- Shift hue, saturation, and value independently to recolour sprites while preserving luminance.
Adjust contrast and brightness
- Fine-tune tonal balance without altering hue.

Invert and grayscale
- Convert colours to their inverse or remove chroma entirely.
Replace colour
- Map one colour to another with optional tolerance to include similar shades.
The dialog is draggable; use Apply to preview adjustments before committing. When targeting the palette with Like Indexed enabled, palette edits propagate to every pixel that references the swatch, keeping the canvas and palette in sync.
Advanced outline
Menu ▸ Edit ▸ Advanced outline generates multi-pass outlines on the current selection, layer, layer group, frame, or entire sprite. Control width by increasing the repeat count.
Insert image
Use Menu ▸ Edit ▸ Insert image to bring in artwork from the Files app, Photos library, or clipboard. Images larger than four times the canvas dimensions are rejected to protect performance—resize large references before importing. Once inserted, treat the new content like any other layer data.
