Canvas
Tailor the canvas to match your pixel art workflow—enable grid overlays, set isometric guides, and adjust the global canvas dimensions when projects scale up.
Grid lines
Toggle the grid via Menu ▸ View ▸ Show grid line.

Configure the grid in Preferences ▸ Assistant grids:
- Grid width and height (minimum 1 pixel)
- Stroke width
- Colour (supports transparency for subtle guides)
Grid snapping & grid controls
When grid snapping is enabled, Resprite aligns strokes and shape anchors to the active grid so you can place pixels and construction lines consistently.
Double-click a grid cell to quickly select it.

For clearer guides at multiple scales, enable primary/secondary grid display. You can also offset both rectangular and isometric grids to match your sprite origin.

Isometric guides
Enable isometric lines through Menu ▸ View ▸ Show ISO line to assist with isometric compositions.

In Preferences ▸ Canvas, set the isometric box height (minimum 8 pixels). ISO lines inherit the grid colour for consistency.
Resprite now supports more ISO angle types to fit different isometric styles.

Assistant grids
Use Preferences ▸ Assistant grids to configure perspective and helper grids in one place.
- Enable one-point, two-point, three-point, or fisheye perspective grids to plan scenes with clear vanishing points.
- Adjust grid density, strength, and colour so guides remain visible without overpowering the artwork.
- Combine perspective grids with the existing canvas and isometric guides for complex layouts.
Global canvas operations
Access Menu ▸ Sprite for sprite-wide adjustments.
These commands affect every frame and layer:
- Frame rate – change the animation playback speed.
- Sprite size – uniformly scale artwork across all frames (pixels are resampled).
- Canvas size – expand or crop the canvas with nine anchor positions.
- Rotate / Flip – rotate or mirror the entire canvas horizontally or vertically.
To transform a specific region, use the selection-based tools in Editing.
Canvas preferences
Use Preferences ▸ Canvas to fine-tune ISO lines and the checkerboard background colour. For grid settings, use Preferences ▸ Assistant grids.

Change canvas size
Choose Menu ▸ Sprite ▸ Canvas size to adjust width and height without scaling existing pixels. The preview shows how the canvas aligns relative to current content, helping you pad or crop with precision.
Resprite now supports interactive canvas resizing.
